Black Votes Matter Planning & Strategy Session - Ottawa
The Black Canadian community is an important voting bloc. It holds a lot of power by only if Black Canadian voters show up at the polls at election time. Let's work to make it happen. At this session, we will discuss strategies for mobilizing the Black Canadian vote in Ottawa, developing inclusive campaigns which aim to reach out to the full diversity of Ottawa's Black communities, and engaging all political parties. This session will be co-facilitated by Chelby Marie Daigle. About this project: The BlackVotesMatter campaign was launched at the April 29 Second Annual African Canadian Summit in Toronto. The African Canadian Summit addressed three pillars: violence reduction, equity in outcomes, and good jobs in a changing economy. This session is organized by the Canadian Labour Congress and the Coalition of Black Trade Unionists.
