Urban Legends Presents: Art in the Tea Leaves Vol. 6. Have you ever found that you don't have time to write or draw or paint or think? Or don't have a place to do it? Or a partner to write with? This is the event for you. We will be providing tea and a location to get together to write and rejoice together in the collective enjoyment of writing. All we ask is for a small donation ($2 minimum) to cover the cost of the tea and the location. There is one rule: Please respect the wishes of the artist and do not disturb them if they are not wanting to be disturbed. Other than that, come on by for a minute, an hour, four hours, whatever; we'll just be happy to see you and share with you.

Working in partnership with Ottawa’s Aboriginal community, join us in considering what action we can each take as individuals and as organizations to respond to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls for Action. For those of us who are not Indigenous, we will have an opportunity to learn and consider how to best be an ally with Indigenous peoples. Light refreshments will be served. 1 NIGHT with Lucila Al Mar (final show of 2016). 1NIGHT: Learn the Art & the Artist is a live arts and entertainment show that aims to highlight the work of performance based artists from across Canada. Hosted by Jamaal Jackson Rogers, 1NIGHT is an artists platform, with each special guest engaging the audience with their thoughts on their discipline, experience and passion for creativity.
Every show is unique, but maintains a program schedule that includes three parts, THE MASTERCLASS, THE INTERVIEW and THE PERFORMANCE. Beginning with THE MASTERCLASS, the feature artist shares their secrets on the practice of their craft with a Q&A period. THE INTERVIEW follows, where the host and guest examine the public and personal life of the artist, while also highlighting latest projects. The show concludes THE PERFORMANCE, with a never before seen display of work peformed from the featured artist. The entire show is filmed and the audience is an active part of the evening, bringing their questions and their interest in the art\artist to the studio. Opportunities to network and socialize are given during the refreshment breaks and upon doors opening.
