PLAY: Stuff Happens. . Running time is approximately 3 hours with intermission. A play by David Hare. Directed by David Ferry. Cast includes Andrew Moodie and Karen Robinson. History in the making. Stuff Happens is dramatic dynamite, a provocative political drama starring a president, a prime minister, and a crowd of high-level decision-makers. Should the U.S. lead a war against Iraq? Are there indeed weapons of mass destruction or just words of mass distraction? A spellbinding blend of documented details, public-record information, and theatrical invention, Hare’s fusing of historical narrative with human drama exposes the relentless politicking behind the 2003 invasion. Stuff Happens is presented as part of the NAC English Theatre 2014-2015 season by special arrangement with Samuel French, INC.
SPOKEN WORD: Words To Live By with Rational Rebel with Special Guest King Kimbit. Rational rebel believes that the spoken word scene allows her to build confidence, while giving her the strength to stay content. She believes that a poetry show is a conversation between an artist and an audience that is often not recognized until we’ve said our goodbyes. Described as a dreamer, she is a believer in abstract storytelling. Don’t cut corners! During the course of her spoken word career, she had the opportunity to perform at versefest, a local community event-raising money for the children’s wish foundation, house of paint’s 500 G slam and of course urban legends. She definitely has a love for words, but not a love for writing bios! Admission: $7 (FREE for those on Open Mic)
